Carol and Maria to visit U.S.

Dear Friends and Family,

2025 began with a bang for us. In early January, we learned every child that had written qualifying exams made it to the next level and the moving began! 3 boys from Redemption House have gone to live with relatives and finish school there, 5 children went to grade 8 and moved to Redemption House from the farm. Plus, we have 5 college students this year. Change, even when expected, can be a difficult time for my children but they seem to finally be settling in and moving forward. Out of our 7 grade 12 students, five have been selected as prefects, which is a leadership role in the school. I am proud of every one of our students and am grateful that our investment in full time teachers at the home sites is producing good results. All this moving meant open beds at Salvation Home. In January, we took in 2 new older girls at Redemption House and in February, 9 new boys arrived at the farm. All are very happy to be off the streets and in a safe place to call home.

I am back living at Redemption House with the older kids who are in school all day. Took me a while to settle in as well. It’s much quieter here and everyone speaks English. Every day, I remind myself how blessed we are to have this beautiful new home. I am enjoying my kitchen. All the things that arrived in the barrels for the kitchen are much appreciated and put to good use. Thank you for the donations!

The best news I have is that I’m finally coming home for a visit and fundraising. And to make it even better, Maria is coming with me! She is 16 years old and in grade11 here in Zambia. She has lived with me for 14 years. She loves to sing and dance, is an avid reader and enjoys fashion! We’ll be speaking at several churches and events throughout the archdiocese. We’ll be based in Maple Lake from April 16 through June 10. Give us a call. We’d love to attend your event, have lunch or dinner and catch up! If you’re interested in hosting a small meet and greet or other type of fundraiser, let us know. Maria has a powerful story to share!

As you read through this latest news, you will learn that God answered our prayers, and we have had perfect rains this season!! You will also find our schedule of events in Minnesota at this time. You are welcome to join any of them or schedule your own!! I look forward to seeing everyone again. If we won’t be able to connect when I am home, please consider making your donation today. Eleven new children mean more money for operating expenses and education is much needed.

God Bless You Today and always,
Carol and the Children of Action for Children Zambia.
